This course covers the inspection of cooling systems and heat pumps. The student learns to identify typical defects in these and apply correct inspection techniques. The student also learns how to identify common energy sources and transfer media used in central air conditioning, common air conditioning configurations, consider the age and capacity of the cooling system, and approximate the adequacy of the system. The student will develop a good understanding of the operation of heat pumps, recognize important heat pump components, and detect common problems found with heat pumps, and their components.
