There Are Many Career Colleges in Alberta, but AOLCC “feels like home”
As graduates entered the dining hall and found their dining tables, they took a moment to say what was special about AOLCC. One graduate, from the Education Assistant program highlighted the supportive staff and said, “it felt like home.” In fact, the staff were lauded many times throughout the night and got a warm round of applause. They are one of the reasons our career colleges in Calgary are such a success.
Graduates also highlighted how flexible the programs were and Darcy Turning Robe, a graduate of the Community Service Worker program, added even more praise for the school. In his speech he talked about previously being a mechanic and facing discrimination then said “I give props to Academy of Learning. A lot of respect.”
In memory of Patrick Duffy, a student who recently passed away, Cressida Molyneaux spoke. She described the warm presence, fatherly encouragement, and positive energy Patrick offered to his classmates on campus.
