The Network Administrator program provides students with the necessary skill and knowledge to plan, install, and provide routine control over and manage exceptional situations in relation to quality communications network services in an information system. It provides in-depth knowledge of evaluating communications hardware, software, and transmission service alternatives against changing business requirements, maintaining links with network suppliers, monitoring network performance, providing support for systems, localizing and rectifying faults in networks and handling non-routine user/customer problems, and providing expertise and practical assistance in delivering service that complies with statutory and other standards, as well as strategic and tactical plans.

Network Administrator duties is provide day-to-day onsite administrative support for software users in a variety of work environments, including professional offices, small businesses, government, and corporations. Their duties may include:

  • Maintaining, troubleshooting, and administering the use of local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), hardware, software, and related computer equipment.
  • Monitoring and implementing network
  • Designing and configuring networks and recommending purchases of application servers, peripherals, and
  • Evaluating and installing computer hardware, networking software, and operating system
  • Providing problem-solving services to network
  • Performing data backups and disaster recovery operations.

CompTIA A+ Certification 220-1001

In this course, students obtain the skills and knowledge required to assemble components based on customer requirements; install, configure, and maintain devices, PCs, and software for end users; understand the basics of networking and security/forensics; and properly and safely diagnose, resolve, and document common hardware and software issues while applying troubleshooting skills.

CompTIA A+ Certification 220-1002

In this course students obtain the skills and knowledge required to install, configure, optimize, troubleshoot, repair, upgrade, and perform preventative maintenance on PCs, mobile and digital devices. You will also learn to implement security solutions for operating systems, mobile devices, workstations and data, physical security and implement security with operational procedures.

CompTIA Network+

Upon completion of this course, students gain knowledge and skills necessary to troubleshoot, configure, and manage common network wireless and wired devices, establish basic network design and connectivity, understand and maintain network documentation, identify network limitations and weaknesses, and implement network security, standards, and protocols. Students will have a basic understanding of emerging technologies including unified communications, mobile, cloud, and virtualization technologies.

Upon completion of this course, the student will gain knowledge and skills necessary to build, maintain, troubleshoot and support server hardware and software technologies. Microsoft Windows 10 (MD-100)

In this course, students obtain the skills and knowledge required to deploy Windows 10, perform post-installation configuration, and manage devices and data. Students will also learn to configure networking, remote connectivity, and system and data recovery. In addition, students will acquire the skills needed to manage updates and maintain and manage Windows 10.

Installation, Storage, and Compute with Windows Server 2016

This course is designed to prepare students for the Windows Server 2016 (70-740) certification exam. The 70-740 certification exam is the first step on the path to becoming a Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA).

Networking with Windows Server 2016

This course is designed to prepare students for the Networking with Windows Server 2016 (70-741) certification exam. The 70-741 certification exam is the second step on the path to becoming a Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA).

Identity with Windows Server 2016

This course is designed to prepare students for the Windows Server 2016 (70-742) certification exam. The 70-742 certification exam is the third step on the path to becoming a Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA).

Windows Level 1

This course covers the basic concepts and most commonly used features and functions of Windows 10. The course will walk you through performing basic operations such as opening applications, using Help and shutting down the computer. Additionally, you will learn to set up user accounts, create and use custom keyboard shortcuts, personalize and organize the working space, and use the Action Centre.

Windows Level 2

Windows Level 2 course is an advanced course and covers details about managing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing the Microsoft Windows operating system (Professional Edition).

Microsoft Access Level 1

The Microsoft Access Level 1 course teaches students the fundamentals of the Microsoft Access application. In this course, students examine database objects and learn to manage data in a database. They learn to sort and filter data, display and format data, and use simple queries to retrieve data.

Microsoft Excel Level 1

In the Microsoft Excel Level 1 course, students learn to create and manage worksheets and workbook files; enter data and create basic formulas to perform calculations. They learn to edit and manipulate cell content, modify worksheet structure, view and format worksheets, and use Excel’s predefined functions.

Microsoft Outlook Level 1

In the Microsoft Outlook Level 1 course, students will learn how to use both the e-mail program and the personal information manager components of Microsoft Outlook. The skills learned in this course will help students use Microsoft Outlook effectively both at work and in your personal life.

Microsoft Word Level 1

In Microsoft Word Level 1 course, students learn to create, navigate, and organize documents and use the help functions. They learn to edit and manipulate text, view and format documents, and use Word’s predefined functions. Students use the Find and Replace feature, use proofing and language tools, create, format and modify tables, work with hyperlinks and cross references, and learn how to preview and print a document.

Project Management Fundamentals Level 1

The Project Management Fundamentals Level 1 course combined with Level 2 is designed to provide you with a fundamental knowledge of the essentials of project management and to provide you with the requisite hours and knowledge for writing the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM ) examination.

Business Correspondence Level 1

The Business Correspondence Level 1 course places emphasis on the acquisition of skills and style mechanics needed to produce personal and office correspondence. The parts of a business letter are examined in detail, as are the guidelines for organizing and writing a letter. Students will learn how to write neutral and inquiry letters, as well as positive and negative letters. Proper punctuation and word usage skills are also addressed. The latter part of the course deals with creating envelopes and labels using Microsoft Word, as well as writing and managing e-mail using Microsoft Outlook. Writing and creating memos, fax cover sheets, and forms using Microsoft Word templates are also covered.

Customer Service

This course will teach students the fundamentals of customer service, and help them to develop core competencies for providing excellent customer service. Students learn the definition of customer service, who their customers are, and how to be customer service oriented through description and examples. They learn tips for managing time and stress, communicating effectively with customers, and managing customer relationships. The course highlights being prepared, and dealing professionally with customer conflicts and complaints. It identifies common pitfalls and explains how to avoid making them. It also emphasizes the importance of gathering and responding to customer feedback, and maintaining a professional image.

Job Search and Resume Writing

Job Search and Résumé Writing provides students with both traditional and innovative job-search techniques and résumé writing skills required to gain employment in today’s competitive marketplace. The course combines theoretical, how-to information with hands-on practical applications. Students are required to draw on their own experiences to identify work preferences, accomplishments, technical and transferable skills, and to research, organize, and analyze information; and to apply their knowledge in a series of job search preparation and implementation tasks.
